Presentation of the Commission culturelle des Collines-de-l’Outaouais.

The Commission culturelle des Collines-de-l’Outaouais is a committee consisting of seven (7)  cultural representative from each of the seven (7) municipalities of the Collines-de-l’Outaouais RCM, with one (1) representative of the Conseil des maires (Council of Mayors) of the Collines-de-l’Outaouais RCM as its chair. The Commission culturelle des Collines-de-l’Outaouais gets involved in consensus building between the cultural stakeholders and the public decision-makers by fostering the empowerment of the community’s driving forces in a spirit of partnership, exchange and resource sharing.

Since its inception in April of 2009, the Commission culturelle of the Collines-de-l’Outaouais RCM worked on developing, applying, following up on and assessing the Cultural Policy of the Collines-de-l’Outaouais RCM and its 2011-2013 Action Plan, which were adopted by the RCM in June 2010 and January 2011, respectively. The Commission culturelle des Collines-de-l’Outaouais has the authority to make recommendations for all decisions taken regarding the implementation of its Cultural Policy.

 

Mandates of the Commission culturelle des Collines-de-l’Outaouais

  • To recommend all decisions regarding the implementation of the Cultural Policy of the Collines-de-l’Outaouais RCM;
  • To receive, analyse and formulate recommendations on projects submitted to the Cultural Development Fund;
  • To plan, guide and assess the implementation of the Cultural Policy of the Collines-de-l’Outaouais RCM;
  • To recommend actions aiming to update the Action Plan of the RCM’S Cultural Policy;
  • To ensure the alignment of the RCM’S Cultural Policy with the various cultural plans;
  • To foster interactions between cultural institutions, artists and the population;
  • To facilitate exchanges between cultural stakeholders of the community and the public institutions of the RCM;
  • To facilitate the circulation of the cultural information amongst the population and with cultural development partners.
